Purpose of This Policy

Pursuit of Blue takes fraud prevention, identity verification and anti-money laundering controls seriously.

Prize competition websites can be targeted by people using stolen payment cards, false identities, multiple accounts, chargebacks or other suspicious activity.

This policy explains the checks and controls we may use to protect entrants, winners, our website, our payment providers and the integrity of our competitions.

Account Requirements

Entrants may be required to create an account before entering competitions.

Accounts must be created using accurate personal details and the entrant’s real name.

Anonymous accounts, fake names, nicknames, misleading details or accounts created on behalf of another person may be rejected.

Only one account per person is allowed.

If we believe that someone has created or used multiple accounts, we may suspend or close those accounts and cancel related entries.

Information We May Request

We may ask entrants or winners to provide information or documents to verify:

  • full name;
  • age;
  • address;
  • UK residency;
  • identity;
  • payment ownership;
  • eligibility to enter;
  • bank account ownership, where cash prizes are involved.

This may include a passport, driving licence, proof of address, bank statement, payment evidence or other reasonable verification documents.

Payment Checks

Payments must be made using approved payment methods shown on the website.

You must not use stolen, unauthorised, fraudulent or third-party payment details.

If a payment is suspected to be fraudulent, disputed, reversed or charged back, we may suspend the related account and cancel entries while we investigate.

We may report suspected fraud to payment providers, banks, law enforcement or other relevant authorities where appropriate.

Monitoring

We may monitor website activity, accounts, payments, entries and free entry patterns to identify suspicious behaviour.

Suspicious behaviour may include:

  1. multiple accounts;
  2. repeated failed payments;
  3. unusual entry patterns;
  4. use of different names, cards or addresses;
  5. attempted manipulation of competitions;
  6. suspicious free postal entries;
  7. abusive chargebacks;
  8. use of false or misleading information.
  9. Free Entry Route Checks

Pursuit of Blue accepts valid free postal entries where a free entry route is available.

However, free postal entries must comply with the Free Entry Route instructions.

We may reject postal entries that are incomplete, illegible, bulk-submitted, suspicious, late, sent to the wrong address or otherwise non-compliant.

Winners

Before awarding a prize, we may require winners to complete identity, age, residency, address and eligibility checks.

If a winner refuses or fails to provide requested information within a reasonable time, the prize may be forfeited and another winner may be selected.

Cash prizes will only be paid into a UK bank account in the winner’s own name or a joint account where the winner is one of the named account holders.

Suspended or Closed Accounts

If we believe that an account is connected to fraud, money laundering, misuse, multiple accounts, false information or suspicious activity, we may:

  • suspend the account;
  • request verification documents;
  • cancel entries;
  • withhold prizes;
  • close the account;
  • restrict future participation;
  • report the matter to relevant authorities or payment providers.
  • Record Keeping

We may keep records of accounts, entries, payments, verification checks, documents, prize claims, correspondence and suspicious activity reviews.

These records help us operate competitions fairly, prevent fraud, comply with legal duties and respond to lawful requests.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Your Cooperation

By creating an account, entering a competition or claiming a prize, you agree to cooperate with reasonable AML, KYC, fraud prevention and verification checks.

Failure to cooperate may result in account restriction, cancelled entries or forfeiture of a prize.
